1. 加强;巩固
    If you consolidate something that you have, for example power or success, you strengthen it so that it becomes more effective or secure.

    e.g. The question is: will the junta consolidate its power by force?...

    e.g. Brydon's team-mate Martin Williamson consolidated his lead in the National League when he won the latest round.
