看;注意(LOOKING AND PAYING ATTENTION)
1. 看;注视;留神观察
If you watch someone or something, you look at them, usually for a period of time, and pay attention to what is happening.
e.g. The man was standing in his doorway watching him...
那个男人站在门口盯着他看。
e.g. He watched the barman prepare the beer he had ordered...
他看着酒吧招待员备好他点的啤酒。
2. 看,观看(电视节目、比赛等)
If you watch something on television or an event such as a sports match, you spend time looking at it, especially when you see it from the beginning to the end.

e.g. I'd stayed up late to watch the film...
我熬夜看了那场电影。
e.g. They spent a great deal of time watching television.
他们很多时间都看电视了。
3. 对…保持关注;掌握…的情况
If you watch a situation or event, you pay attention to it or you are aware of it, but you do not influence it.
e.g. Human rights groups have been closely watching the case...
人权组织一直在密切关注此案。
e.g. Annoyed commuters could only watch as the departure time ticked by.
随着发车时间一点点过去,恼怒的上班族只能干瞪眼。
4. 照看,看护(尤指孩子或动物)
If you watch people, especially children or animals, you are responsible for them, and make sure that they are not in danger.
e.g. Parents can't be expected to watch their children 24 hours a day.
父母不可能每天24小时照看孩子。
