1. 赞成；同意
    If you approve of an action, event, or suggestion, you like it or are pleased about it.

    e.g. Not everyone approves of the festival...
           不是所有人都赞成庆祝该节日。
    e.g. I approved of the proposal.
           我赞成该提案。

2. 赞许;嘉许;喜欢
    If you approve of someone or something, you like and admire them.

    e.g. I didn't approve of his manner.
           我不喜欢他的态度。

3. 批准；认可；通过
    If someone in a position of authority approves a plan or idea, they formally agree to it and say that it can happen.

    e.g. The Russian Parliament has approved a program of radical economic reforms...
           俄罗斯议会已经通过一项重大经济改革方案。
    e.g. MPs approved the Bill by a majority of 97.
           议员们以97票的多数票通过了该议案。

4. 批准；核准
    If a product or person is approved by an official organization, they are declared to be of a good enough standard to be used or employed.

    e.g. We have three suppliers in all who are approved by the Organic Farm Food Association.
           我们总共有3家获有机农产品协会认可的供货商。
