1. 便条;便笺
    A note is a short letter.

    e.g. Stevens wrote him a note asking him to come to his apartment...
           史蒂文斯给他写了张便条，请他去自己的公寓。
    e.g. I'll have to leave a note for Karen.
           我得给卡伦留张便条。

2. 记录;笔记
    A note is something that you write down to remind yourself of something.

    e.g. I knew that if I didn't make a note I would lose the thought so I asked to borrow a pen or pencil...
           我知道如果我不把这个想法记下来就会忘记，所以我找人借了支笔。
    e.g. Take notes during the consultation as the final written report is very concise.
           磋商的时候要作记录，因为最终的书面报告非常简洁。

3. (书或文章的)按语，注释，说明
    In a book or article, a note is a short piece of additional information.

    A note is a short document that has to be signed by someone and that gives official information about something.

    e.g. Since Mr Bennett was going to need some time off work, he asked for a sick note...

    e.g. I've got half a ton of gravel in the lorry but he won't sign my delivery note.

5. 纸币;钞票
    You can refer to a banknote as a note .

    e.g. They exchange traveller's cheques at a different rate from notes.
           他们兑换旅行支票时依据的汇率跟兑换现钞时不同。
