    An interval between two events or dates is the period of time between them.

    e.g. The ferry service has restarted after an interval of 12 years...
           时隔12年之后，轮渡服务又重新开通了。
    e.g. There was a long interval of silence.

2. 幕间休息;中场休息
    An interval during a film, concert, show, or game is a short break between two of the parts.

    e.g. During the interval, wine was served...

    e.g. England were two goals behind at the interval.
