1. 错误;差错
    An error is something you have done which is considered to be incorrect or wrong, or which should not have been done.

    e.g. NASA discovered a mathematical error in its calculations...
           美国国家航空航天局在它的计算结果中发现了一个数学错误。
    e.g. MPs attacked lax management and errors of judgment.
           议员们抨击管理的松散和判断的失误。

2. 错误地；失误地
    If you do something in error or if it happens in error, you do it or it happens because you have made a mistake, especially in your judgment.

    e.g. The plane was shot down in error by a NATO missile.
           一枚北约的导弹误将那架飞机击落。

3. （认识到）错误;（意识到）失误
    If someone sees the error of their ways, they realize or admit that they have made a mistake or behaved badly.

    e.g. I wanted an opportunity to talk some sense into him and try to make him see the error of his ways.
           我想找个机会开导他一下，好让他认识到自己做错了。
