    A department is one of the sections in an organization such as a government, business, or university. A department is also one of the sections in a large shop.

2. 不是…的职责（或知识）范围;并非…的专长
    If you say that a task or area of knowledge is not your department, you mean that you are not responsible for it or do not know much about it.

    e.g. 'I'm afraid the name means nothing to me,' he said. 'That's not my department.'
